Tunnel Book

The objective of this project was to explore the depth perception cues, especially atmospheric perspective to create both a two- and three-dimensional illusion of depth. The former was created through manipulation of value range and detail, while the latter was done through physical construction of the book.

Process: Thumbnail sketches, choosing my image, printing/cutting my picture out and pasting on to separate sheets of paper to get an idea of how to execute my design, begin drawings, scanned drawings in and reprint to cardstock, cut the drawings into separate parts using an x acto knife, laser cut five 10x7 rectangles of plexiglass, pasted cardstock drawings to plexiglass with spray adhesive, and created the accordion to hold it all together.
